About Me

Moving and Storing Household Items

When a family member passes away unexpectedly, there is not only grief but so much other stuff the family has to do. Hello, my name's Bernice. My mother-in-law passed away last year. Here we are a year later, and it's beginning to feel like we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. When it came to cleaning out Mom’s house, I had to put my organizational skills to work. My husband has three siblings, so furniture and belongings were going in four directions. There were some items we wanted to put in storage until our children were old enough to use them. I found a moving company that was willing to work with us. They worked to make sure the items were delivered to the locations we specified. I want to share more about this experience with you and hope you can take away some helpful information.

Don't Ignore Your Passion Because Of A Lack Of Space At Home

You often think that if you just had a little more space at home, you could get involved in a craft project or hobby that you love. Don't let that stop you with storage facilities just down the street. People have done some creative things with their storage units. Here are a few of the ways people have transformed this rented space into a place that supports their passions.

Wine Cellar

Rent a climate-controlled unit in a local self storage facility and line the walls with shelves. Stock them with your favorite wines and liqueurs. If you install shelving that rolls easily, you can push the shelves together to create more space for your wine collection.

Personal Library

Perhaps you've dreamed of the day when you could put book shelves up in your home and unpack your collection. Make it happen now with book shelves in a humidity-controlled storage unit. Get all of your books out onto shelves finally. This is a good place to also keep your rare volumes. The security of a locked storage unit and limited access to the buildings themselves means your books are out and safe.

Art Studio

You'd love a place in which to set up an easel and work on your paintings. Put a drop cloth on the floor, storage shelves against the wall for your paints and brushes, and extra lighting to turn your storage locker into a painter's getaway. This is a space you can come to with no distractions when you want to just focus on the canvas.

Online Sales Fulfillment

You're interested in a second income selling items at online auction sites. Turn your storage unit into a staging area. Bring in shelving to hold your inventory. Store packing supplies in one area and put a table in the middle of your room where you can pack up the sold items and get them ready for the post office or delivery service.

Store Your Sports Gear

Your storage locker is a secure place to hold the Little League gear between games. Keep uniforms, bats, balls and bases organized in your unit for easy access. You'll have room for extra equipment without cluttering your basement or garage at home.

As long as you don't violate your storage locker agreement, you are free to do with that space as you please. Don't let a lack of space at home keep you from doing what you love. Rent the space and enjoy your favorite passion.
